Qualities
Dried Ginger is used in Chinese herbalism primarily to warm up the Stomach and Spleen and therefore to improve digestion and relieve cold conditions associated with these organs, which generally cause poor digestion. Ginger warms the Spleen and Stomach to dispel cold from the middle burner. This cold can be from invasion of exterior cold or Spleen yang deficiency. Some common manifestations include abdominal and epigastric coldness and pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. Also dry heaves or vomiting saliva from accumulation of cold in the Stomach.

Standard Dosage:
1-3 cups daily.

Ingredients:
Zingiber officinale rhizome-dried, Glycyrrhiza uralensis root, Jasminum sambac flower. - Gan jiang, Gan cao, Mo li hua.

Cautions & Contraindications:
Ginger may damage qi and yin. Therefore it should not be used in cases of yin deficiency, excess heat, interior heat, heat in the blood or spontaneous sweating due to qi deficiency.Ginger may generate heat in the body. Therefore it should not be used on a long term basis to avoid heat accumulation.Use caution during pregnancy. Although ginger helps alleviate nausea, large quantities may cause spontaneous abortion.
