Our Alaria is biologically and nutritionally very similar to Japanese Wakame. Therefore we have nicknamed it Wild Atlantic Wakame. Alaria is a more wild tasting sea vegetable than Japanese Wakame. It has a delicate taste that makes it blend easily with many other ingredients without overpowering them in taste and requires a longer time for cooking when adding it to Miso Soup.
Whole Leaf Alaria can be marinated, steamed for salad or quick roasted to make Alaria chips.
Powdered Alaria can be added to super shakes and energy drinks adding a great boost to their mineral content. Alaria powder can also be added to soups and as a quick pick me up in a cup of hot broth.
And our Alaria Leaves are sun-dried so they are a totally RAW living superfood!
