Alive & Well Soft Wheat-Water Recipe Chart

Place Soft Wheat and soak water (at least double the amount of soft wheat ) in a gallon jar for 12 hours. Pour off water and allow soft wheat to sprout in the jar for 24-48 hours, rinsing twice a day. (It should have small green sprouts on it.) Add water and allow to stand for 24-48 hours covered with a cloth secured by a rubber band. (It should taste similar to unsweetened, carbonated lemonade.) Pour off water for drinking and repeat twice allowing it to stand only 24 hours the next 2 times discarding soft wheat and begin again. It is best to use distilled or spring water. (When you get proficient at making Soft Wheat Water, you may order the Soft Wheat in larger quantities.)

Please note: We have found that in humid climates, each new jar of sprouted wheat will yeild 3 jars of Soft Wheat Water and in desert climates the yield is reduced to 2 jars, so adjust your recipe accordingly.

Natural Fermentation produces a wonderful form of bifidus or beneficial bacteria and is propagatable by the human body plus lots of enzymes in this recipe as well as in yogurt and sauerkraut.

If you plan on using more than 1 or 2 jars to make your Soft Wheat-Water each day things can get pretty confusing sometimes. So we came up with this chart that works similar to a multiplication table only it uses soft wheat and water. Depending on your family size, first determine how much you will need for drinking each day (it is recommended to drink 1-4 C, body requirements will vary & you may have to adjust it for yourself), then locate that amount under the 3rd, 4th or 5th column~3, 4 or 5 Jar Average Daily Yield. Then, staying on the same line, look over to the 1st and 2nd columns and you will find how much soft wheat & drinking water you will need per jar. It is recommended not to exceed 1.25 C of soft wheat per gallon jar to prohibit molding while sprouting. This may vary depending upon your climate and you may need to adjust this as well.
